Abstract
This study aims to analyze the high-order thinking skills through a scientific approach on respiration system. The population was all students of eleventh grade in SMA Negeri 4 Medan totaling 440 people. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique, namely as many as 6 classes with a total of 210 students. This research was a descriptive study so that the data was analyzed to make a systematic, factual, and accurate description of students high-order thinking skills. The instrument for collecting data used cognitive tests at the C4-C6 level. The results showed that: (1) the students high-order thinking skills in SMA Negeri 4 Medan on respiration system at the C4 level (application) was 90.5 (very good). The percentage of graduation is 63.8% or 134 students, and (2) the students average cognitive skills per indicator on respiration system was 68.9. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the students high-order thinking skills in SMA Negeri 4 Medan was in a good category.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Iwan Jepri, Analysis of Mathematical Creative Thinking Ability in Solving Mathematical Problems based Learning Styles in Class VIII Middle School Students. Thesis. Medan: Postgraduate Program, State University of Medan, August 2019. This research aims to obtain an overview of students learning style at St. Peters secondary school in Medan, then analyse the students mathematical creative thinking skills in the problem of solving the study style of the accommodation, Divergent, convergent, and learning assimilation styles. In addition, interviews were conducted with studentsmistakes to find students difficulties in solving problems.Based on the results of a study of 33 students, obtained students with accommodation learning styles amounted to 5 students (15.15%), students with divergent learning styles amounted to 8 students (24, 24%), students with convergent learning styles have 7 students (21,21 %), and students with an assimilation learning style total 13 students (39.39%). Based on the test results of students mathematical creative thinking abilities obtained levels of creative thinking abilities in the high category amounted to 4 students (12.12%), the medium category numbered 7 students (21.21%), and the low category numbered 22 students (66.66%). From the results of interviews with the students, the style of accommodation learning has difficulty in concept indicators, procedures, and principles. In divergent learning styles students have difficulty on fact indicators, concepts, and principles. In convergent learning styles, students experience difficulties in indicator, fact, and principle procedures. In an assimilation learning style, students experience difficulties in fact, concept, and principle indicators. Keywords: creative thinking, learning style

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze and find out the difficulties of mathematical creative thinking processes in problem-based learning. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. The subjects of this study were students of SMP Negeri 13 Medan in class VIII-5 totaling 32 students. The data analysis method used is the Miles and Huberman Method. The results of this study indicate that the analysis of the difficulties of mathematical creative thinking processes in problem based learning, namely 1) in the very high category, students have no difficulties. 2) in the high category, students experience difficulties in applying ideas to the elaboration indicator. 3) in the medium category, students have difficulty planning the application of ideas and applying ideas to indicators of flexibility, authenticity and elaboration. 4) at the level of students ability, students have difficulty planning the application of ideas and the difficulty of applying ideas to the indicators of fluency, having difficulty synthesizing ideas, planning the application of ideas and applying ideas to indicators of flexibility, authenticity and elaboration. 5) in the very low category, students have difficulty synthesizing ideas, planning the application of ideas and applying ideas to indicators of fluency, flexibility, authenticity and elaboration.

Abstract
Spatial ability supports the results of student mathematics learning especially on geometry topics related to shape and space. The purpose of this study was to look at the quality of the development of learning media assisted by Adobe Flash based on cooperative learning to improve spatial ability of students. This study is development research using 4-D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate) in two classes of 30 students at Secondary School at Chandra Kumala Deli Serdang and it has two trials for the developing step. The quality of development is assessed from several aspects, namely validity, practicality, effectiveness of media development and increasing the value of spatial abilities. The results showed that the media development validity score was 2.89 (criteria valid). Practicality has met the practical criteria reviewed by the teacher questionnaire with an average score of 2.65 in trials I and 2.98 in trial II, and responses of students with an average score of 2.75 in trials I and 2.85 in trial II which means good responses. Effectiveness fulfills the effective criteria, namely in terms of the completeness of student learning classically has reached 86.7% in the trial II (in the trial I only 76.7%) and the use of research time according to the implementation plan of learning. Whereas N-gain increases the spatial ability of students using learning media developed in trial I in the low category with a score of 0.13, but in the moderate category with a score of 0.34 in the trial II. Furthermore, the average value increased from the first trial of 71.32 to 77.13 in the second trial.

Abstract
This study aims to obtain an innovative on general chemistry lab guide for agrotechnology study programs. The research was a development research referring to the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Practical guidebooks were arranged following the steps of the learning model based on Problem Based Learning. Research locations in the Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Agrotechnology Study Program, Medan Area University. The results showed that the validation of basic chemistry practicum guidebooks that had been developed in general showed an average value of 3.90 meaning very valid and did not need to be revised and was very feasible to use. The learning outcomes of the practitioner have an N-gain average of 0.65 was categorized as medium. The results of the practical skills average grade value of 93.52 which is categorized very well. The results of the practical guideline assessment conducted by the practitioner after using a chemical practicum guidebook that has been developed has a percentage of 88.10 percentage with a very good category.

Abstract
This research aims to develop the objective test of conceptual knowledge on physics topic heat and temperature in Senior High School which fulfills the required qualifications (standard test) consisting of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, discrimination power, and distractor effectiveness. This research is developmental research using Borg and Gall research method development. In analyzing the data, the research used qualitative and quantitative techniques. The research result considered from qualitative analysis, the questions quality of the conceptual knowledge test is very good with 93% ideality. While from the quantitative analysis, the questions quality of the conceptual knowledge test is good. By analyzing the 75 items of the conceptual knowledge test, it was found that there were 72 approved items and 3 rejected questions. On the large group test, there were (1) 68 valid items (94.4%) and 4 invalid items (5.6%); (2) 0.950 as the good reliability of items; (3) based on the difficulty level, 3 easy items (4.2%), 63 average items (87.5%), and 6 difficult items (8.3%); (4) based on the discrimination power, 39 excellent items (54.2%), 28 good items (38.8%), 3 average items (4.2%), and 2 bad items (2.8%); 5) based on the distractor effectiveness, 68 effective items (94.4%) and 4 ineffective items (5.6%). Therefore, for the good quality items of conceptual knowledge, it was achieved that there were 65 approved items (90.2%), 3 revised items (4.2%), and 4 rejected items (5.6%).

Abstract
This study aims to: 1) Find effective devices in mathematics learning developed based on the PBM model; 2) Finding improvement in students mathematical communication ability using learning tools based on PBM model; 3) Finding an increase in students mathematical dispositions using learning tools based on the PBM model; 4) Finding student responses to learning devices developed based on the PBM model; 5) Finding the process of answers made by students in solving students mathematical communication questions. This research is a development research using the development model of Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel (4D). The first trial was conducted in class XI TKJ-1 and the second trial was conducted in class XI TKJ-2 SMK Tritech Informatika Medan. The results of the first trial and trial II were obtained: 1) learning devices fulfilled effectiveness, effective in terms of a) classical learning completeness of students; b) achievement of learning objectives; and c) learning time; 2) improvement of students mathematical communication ability using learning tools based on the PBM model, in the first trial 73.83, and increased in the second trial 86.67; 3) achievement in the position of students in trial I 69.5 increased 74.17; 4) student responses to the components of the learning device and learning activities are positive; 5) the process of answering students in trial II is better than trial I.

The type of research used in this study was to use a modified 4-D development model . In this study compiled learning devices and instruments, lesson plan, work sheet, teacher book, student book, tests the ability of reasoning and Self efficacy . Tests performed on a class VII-1 as many as 30 people and VII-k as many as 30 people in SMP Negeri 6 Medan. Data analysis techniques in the development of learning devices used descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The results showed that: (1) The validity of the learning device according to a team of experts is valid (2) Genuine learning meet practical criteria that assessment of experts and practitioners devices based learning realistic approach developed in general and can be used with little revision and The ability of teachers to manage learning is an average of 3.70 in good category (3) Learning capabilities meet the effective criteria, namely to classical completion reaching 86.6 % , achievement of objectives namely 80%, 75.8%, and 75% , resp on students to the defenders obtained an average of 90,59 %, and learning time does not exceed the usual learning time. (4) Improvement of mathematical reasoning skills using problem-based learning tools that have been developed seen from the N-gain value which is 0.44 in the category of "moderate", (5) the process of student answers in completing tests of mathematical reasoning ability in trial II is better than the trial I.

Abstract
This study aims to: 1) Produce qualified learning materials which is developed based on Problem Based Learning for class XI SMK Swasta Ar-Rahman Medan; 2) Analyze the improvement of students mathematic problem solving ability which is learned using Problem Based Learning materials. This research is a development research using the Thiagarajan 4-D development model. Trials of learning materials based on Problem Based Learning were conducted three times to obtain quality devices. The first trial was conducted in class XI TKJ 1, the second trial was conducted in class XI TKJ 2 and the disseminate stage in class XI AK. From the results of the study obtained: 1) Problem Based Learning based learning materials that are taught have good quality at the stage of dissemination; 2) The ability to solve mathematical problems learned by using Problem Based Learning devices is increased during the disseminate stage.

Abstract
The purpos study are to produce mathematical learning tools that are valid, practical and effective through Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to improve mathematical communication skills of VII grade students of Jabal Noor IT Middle School. Specific objectives in this study are to: 1) produce mathematical learning devices that are valid, practical and effective to be used in the teaching and learning process. 2) to improve students mathematical communication skills using learning tools developed based on the PBL model. This research is a development research developed with a 4-D model, namely defining, designing, developing, disseminating. Learning devices. Learning models developed in this study include the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Student Book (BS), Student Activity Sheet (LKPD). In addition, researchers have also developed research instruments that consist of tests of students mathematical communication learning abilities. After being analyzed using learning tools it can be concluded that there is an increase in students mathematical communication skills, where the average increase in mathematical communication skills of students from trial I and trial II in the trial I is 0.48 points with an increase in mastery of learning in 23% classics

Abstract

The research sample was taken randomly to obtain two sample classes. Experimental Class I was given Problem Based Learning (PBL) and experimental class II was given Think Pair Share (TPS) learning. The instruments used consisted of: Test of Mathematical Creative Thinking ability and questionnaire on student learning discipline. Data analysis was carried out by Analysis of Covariance (ANACOVA) and N-Gain. The results showed that (1) There were differences in the increase in mathematical creative thinking skills between students who were given a Problem Based Learning (PBL) model higher than students given the Matlab Assisted Think Pair Share (TPS) model, (2) There were differences in the discipline of mathematics learning between students who were given a Problem Based Learning (PBL) model were higher than students who were given Think Pair Share (TPS) models in Matlab Assisted, (3) There were differences in the process of solving students answers when solving mathematical creative thinking skills problems after obtaining a Problem Based model. Learning (PBL) is higher than students given the Think Pair Share (TPS) model Assisted by Matlab. Based on the results of the study, the researcher suggests the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in mathematics learning can be used as an alternative in innovative mathematics learning.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out: (1) Differences in mathematical problem solving ability of students who are given guided discovery learning and cooperative learning STAD type, (2) Interactions between learning models (guided discovery learning and cooperative learning STAD type) with students gender on mathematical problem solving ability. The population in this study was all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Medan academic year 2018/2019. The sample was taken randomly in two selected classes which were class VIII-1 as experimental class-1 and class VIII-2 as experimental class-2, each amounting to 32 students. The research instrument used was a test of problem solving ability. Data was analyzed with two-way Anova. The results of this study show that (1) There are differences in mathematical problem solving abilities between students who are given with guided discovery learning and those who are given with cooperative learning STAD type, (2) There is interaction between learning models (guided discovery learning and cooperative learning STAD type) with students gender on students mathematical problem solving ability.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze whether there is an enhancement difference of mathematic conceptual understanding ability (MCUA) of student which is taught by guided discovery learning (GDL) and which is taught by direct learning (DL). This study is quasi experimental study. The population of this study is the eighth grade students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Barus. The sample of this study is taken randomly, which consisted of two classes. The experiment class is taught by guided discovery learning (GDL) and the control class is taught by direct learning (DL). The result of study showed that there is enhancement difference of mathematic conceptual understanding ability (MCUA) of student which is taught by guided discovery learning (GDL) and student which is taught by direct learning (DL). The N-gain of mathematical concept understanding ability of student which is taught by guided discovery learning (GDL) is higher than student which is taught by direct learning (DL).

Abstract
The goal of this research was to know the gain of student achievement that taught by using dubido. The research has been done in Chemistry Educational Study Program in Unimed. The experimental class was given treatment with teaching by using dubido media based on contextual. The experimental class has fulfilled the requirement for normality and homogenity test. The mean of pretest results and posttest results were 36.615 and 82.769. The increase of posttest results indicated that learning by using dubido based on contextual can improve students achievement. The increase of students achievement signed by percent of gain with the value of gain percent was 74. The result of t test was obtained from tcount is more than t table (2.038 is more than 1.671) at a is 0.05, it means that the implementation of dubido based on contextual was given positive effect to increase students achievement.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Students thinking skills become a target life skill to be achieve when implementing the competence curriculum set by the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (Kerangka Kualifikasi Nasional Indonesia, KKNI). The KKNI standard has prompted been applied for Chemistry curriculum in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of mathematics and natural Science Universitas Negeri Medan. The university policy has to be supported through implementing learning strategies to provide the students with appropriate knowledge and skills after completing the subject they learn. The aplication of innovative learning material is believed to be able to achieve students thinking skills along with improving their competence in chemistry. The aim of this research is to provide an develop an innovative learning material with project to be used as a learning media to improve students thinking skills requireed by the KKNI curriculum. The study is conducted by developing sets of mini projects on organic topics followed by the integration of multimedia into project packages. The learning packages are then used to guide the students to do accademic activities for independednt learning. The results showed that sets of mini projects that are integrated with multimedia have successfuly developed on the teaching of Organic Chemistry. The mini projects have been validated by experts and assigned to be standar, complete and suited to the need of undergraduate students. The learning package consisted of sets of laboratory activities, fields study, and virtual learning on the teaching of Organic Chemistry. Innovative learning packages found effective to help students to learn Organic Chemistry. The students thinking skills are improved since they are very enthutias to learn Organic Chemistry. the developed learning packages are able to guide the students to learn and to improve their knowledge and skill to meet required competence needed in the KKNI curriculum. Students learning style has been changed to become independent learning.

Abstract
A massive change in the progress of information technology becomes a challenge in the learning strategy. Teaching and learning chemistry required to adaptat with the latest technology in maximizing learning activities. Thus the learning process must be improved through the application of innovative learning material that can encourage the students to learn actively, be more meaningful, and motivate the learner to learn optimally to achieve their competencies according to the national curriculum oriented towards the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI). This study aims to innovate project-based learning to support blended learning in accordance with the demands of an KKNI-oriented curriculum for in Analytical Chemistry. The research was conducted at Universitas Negeri Medan at accademic year 2019/2020. The study are consisted of (1) the development of project-based learning package on Distillation topic, (2) integration of information technology, multimedia and the web into the learning learning package for delivering the subject face-to-face learning, independent learning and blended learning, (3) standardizing and evaluating of learning packages, and (4) implementation of an innovative learning material in the teaching of Distillation topic. The results show that innovative project-based learning integrated with blended learning has been successfully developed to be used to improve academic activities in the teaching of Distillation topic. The implementation of innovative project-based has been used for face-to-face teaching and blended learning in the experimental group compared to the control group using conventional learning. The results has convinced that an increase in student competence has been achieved in experimental class because an innovative learning model can attract students attention to learn independently. The learning facilities provided in the learning package has been proven to guide the students for active learning to studey analytical separation. The students that are treated with project-based learning in experimental class are having optimun in their learning potential, and results in achieving their competence as required by KKNI curriculum.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the improvement of critical thinking skills of students using Student Worksheets (LKS) assisted by computer simulation in learning. LKS used problem based and contains questions that explore critical thinking skills. This type of research is a quasi experiment with the design of two group pretest posttest. The population of this study is all students in class X Semester I SMA Negeri 9 Medan which consisted of seven classes totaling 243 students. The research sample was taken two classes determined by cluster random sampling technique, namely class X MIA two totaling 36 students as the experimental class using problem based LKS assisted by computer simulation and class X MIA three totaling 32 students as a control class with conventional learning. The instrument used for critical thinking tests was 10 questions in the form of problem based descriptions. Based on the results of different tests obtained significant differences in students critical thinking skills using problem-based LKS assisted by computer simulation. The percentage increases in N-gain critical thinking experimental class was 64% and the control class was 43%, each category was moderate.

Abstract

This research is a quasi-experimental study. The population is the all of students of Santo Yoseph Private Middle School Medan grade VIII. The instruments used in this study are test mathematic problem solving abilities and questionnaire for SRL. The results of the study are there is difference in students mathematic problem solving abilities and SRL taught through geogebra-assisted contextual learning models with students taught through geogebra-assisted cooperative learning models and there is an interaction between learning and students initial mathematical abilities towards students mathematical problem solving abilities and SRL.

Abstract
This study aims to analyze: (1) Comparison between student mathematics learning outcomes taught by Realistic mathematical approach model with Means Ends Analysis model (2) comparison of mathematics learning outcomes of students who have high creative thingking skills and low creative thingking skills (3) interaction between learning model and creative thingking style towards student mathematics learning outcomes. The sample was divided into two classes, the experimental one class taught with the realistic mathematic approach model and the experimental two class taught with the Means Ends Analysis model. The data in this study were analyzed by two-way ANOVA. The results of the study show that: (1) From the results of the calculation of the hypothesis obtained Fcount = 80,02. For the distribution value of Ftable = 3.99 then this result shows that Fcount> Ftable so that gives a decision that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The research hypothesis proposed meaning that the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught realistic mathematic approach model are higher than the mathematics learning outcomes of students who are taught by Means Ends Analysis model. (2) From the results of the calculation of the hypothesis obtained Fcount = 8,81. For the distribution value of Ftable = 3.99 then this result shows that Fcount> Ftable so that gives a decision that the research hypothesis proposed is mathematics learning outcomes of students who have a high creative thingking skills are higher then low creative thingking skills (3) From the results of hypothesis calculations obtained Fcount = 7,42. For the distribution value of Ftable = 3.99 then this result shows that Fcount> Ftable so that gives a decision that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The proposed research hypothesis is that there is an interaction between learning models and creative thingking skills towards student mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract
The aims of this research are to acknowledge the effect of problem based learning model and cooperative learning model jigsaw type on creative thinking skills and the interaction between learning model and learning motivation on students creative thinking skills. The kind of this research is quasi experiment research. The population of this research was the 7th grade students of SMPN2 Percut Sei Tuan. Then, the sample was taken by using random sampling method, with VII-3 were chosen as experiment 1 class and VII-4 as experiment 2 class. The experiment 1 class was treated by using problem based learning model while the experiment 2 class was treated by using cooperative learning model jigsaw type. The result of this research shows that: students creative thinking skills was taught by problem based learning model higher than students creative thinking skills was taught by cooperative learning model jigsaw type and there is interaction between the learning model and the learning motivation on students creative thinking skills. Students with low learning motivation are better taught by cooperative learning model than problem based learning and students with high learning motivation are better taught by problem based learning than cooperative learning model.

Abstract
This study aims to determine: (1) the effect of realistic mathematics approach towards student mathematics problem solving ability; (2) the effect of self-efficacy towards student mathematics problem solving ability; (3) the interaction between realistic mathematics approach and self-efficacy towards student mathematics problem solving ability. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The population research are students of class V-A,V-B and V-C Gracia Sustain Private Elementary School. The sample in this research is class V-A as the control class that consist of 30 students which were taught using the conventional approach and for class V-B for the experimental class which were taught using realistic mathematics approach. The instruments used were: (1) mathematics problem solving test, that was essay test; (2) self-efficacy questionnaire sheet. These instruments had fulfilled the terms of validity and reliability coefficient. The findings of the research showed that: (1) there are effect of realistic mathematics approach towards student mathematics problem solving ability. It is shown by the mathematics problem solving outcomes of students who received the realistic mathematics approach got mean score as 78,37 while the mathematics problem solving outcomes of student who received the conventional approach got mean score as 67,70; (2) based on the results of data calculations can be seen that the mathematics problem solving ability on students who has high self-efficacy got mean score as 79,38 while the mathematics problem solving ability on students who has low self-efficacy got the mean score as 64,18; and (3) the hypothesis result testing showed that there is no interaction between of the use of realistic mathematics approach and self-efficacy towards students mathematics problem solving ability.

Abstract
The aims of this research are to analyze: the difference of the improvement mathematical problem-solving ability between students taught by guided discovery learning with the students taught by direct learning, and the interaction between mathematics learning with students early mathematical abilities on students mathematical problem-solving abilities. This study is quasi experiment study. The population of this study was the 8th grade students of MTsN Stabat. Then, the sample was taken by using random sampling method, with VIII-1 were chosen as experimental 1 class and VIII-2 as experimental 2 class. The experimental 1 class was treated by using guided discovery learning model while the experimental 2 class was by using direct learning model. The result of this study shows that: there is enhancement difference that there is enhancement difference of student mathematical problem-solving ability taught by guided discovery learning and taught by direct learning model, and there is no interaction between the learning model and the initial ability (high, medium, low) on students mathematical problem-solving abilities.

The data in this study were analyzed using Two Ways ANOVA and Scheffe Method. The result of this research are: (1) The increasing of students mathematics critical thinking ability using problem based learning is higher than regular learning; (2) The increasing of students self efficacy using problem based learning is higher than regular learning; (3) There is no interaction between mathematical prerequisite ability and learning on students mathematics critical thinking ability; (4) There is no interaction between mathematical prerequisite ability and learning on students self efficacy.

Abstract
Critical thinking is a part of higher order thinking ability that require students to develop the process of analyzing or evaluating information on a problem based on logical thinking to determine decissions. But the fact in learning mathemathics, this ability is still not developed well, so that the aplication of problem based learning is expected to be a solution to increase students mathematics critical thinking ability. The purpose of this study is to identity the increasing of students mathematics critical thinking ability as an impact of problem based learning approach. This study was an quasi experimental research. The population of this research is all students in Junior High School of Dwitunggal Tanjung Morawa. The students in VII-1 is choosen as the experimental class and students in VII-2 is choosen as the control class by purposive sampling technique. The data in this study were analyzed using Two Ways ANOVA. The result of this research are the increasing of students mathematics critical thinking ability using problem based learning is higher than regular learning and there is no interaction between mathematics prerequsite ability and learning on students mathematics critical thinking ability.

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to observe the influence of practical guide based on the inquiry approach toward student achievement on the subject of pH scale and the use of indicators. The research was carried out in the chemistry education study program, Medan State University. Before the hypothesis measure test, the normality and homogeneity test was performed first, signed both of distributed samples has normal and homogeneous. The results of the research shown that there was the influence of practical guide based on the inquiry approach toward student achievement on the subject of the pH scale and the use of indicators, the average of the learning result and percentage gain which taught by practical guide based on inquiry approach are 78.74 and 66.9 respectively while the results of learning chemistry and percentage gain taught with conventional practical guide are 73.03 and 59.4, with difference of percentage gain equal to 7.4. The hypothesis in this study was tested by using the right-t-test and hypothesis testing results obtained t count higher than t table with the value, 3.167 is higher than 1.669 with alpha is 0.05.
